General information

Description This module is a modified version of the model developed by Richardson, et al (2008) used to generate stochastic data sets representing the number of active occupants in a house. This original model has been modified from its original version by Evins, et al (2015) to enable batch runs. This modiefied form of the model also disables external irradiance calculations. The model is implemented as an Excel Open XML Macro-Enabled Spreadsheet with embedded VBA scripts. To use the model, navigate to the "main" tab and specify the run parameters at the top of the page. Output of the model takes the form of a time series of electricity use estimates from appliances and lighting, and an active occupany time series. The original model uses data from a UK time use survey to generate the occupancy profiles. The modified version of the model from Evins, et al (2015) can be downloaded at the link below.
